As the Boston Bruins take the ice for practice this morning at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, with Aaron Ward’s backline replacements — Johnny Boychuk and Matt Lashoff — it looks like the Bruins aren’t the only team battling the injury bug this time of year.
The Miami Herald’s George Richards today reports that Florida Panthers winger David Booth will be out at least a week with a shoulder injury. So that would keep Booth from facing the Bruins Saturday in Sunrise. Booth scored one of Florida’s two goals in a 4-2 loss to Boston Nov. 21.
We already know the Bruins will be heading to the Sunshine State shorthanded, as Ward has joined Andrew Ference among the injured-blueliner corps.
