The Boston Bruins’ veteran duo of injured winger Marco Sturm and defenseman Aaron Ward hit the ice with their teammates for the morning skate in preparation for tonight’s match-up with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

While neither player will be active for the showdown, both have taken positive strides just by hitting the ice. Ward (leg) already had skated once (Sunday) before skating again today. And Sturm (neck), who didn’t skate at all during the Bruins’ two-game, three-day road trip to Florida, is also back on the track toward a return to action.

Head coach Claude Julien said both players will make the upcoming road trip to Washington and Atlanta barring a setback.
