No one can accuse Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Wideman of being a “numbers guy.”
When he assisted on Milan Lucic’s first-period goal during the Bruins’ 5-3 win over Tampa Bay tonight, Wideman recorded the 100th point of his career. But after the game, when told of this feat, he had no idea.
“Not much, I guess,” he said about what the 100th point meant to him. “Points are nice but as long as we win and keep going this way, it makes it a lot more fun. When they’re scoring a lot of goals, I don’t have to do too much. I just kind of throw it at the net and let (David) Krejci and Lucic and guys like that bang it in.”
