He’s by far the hottest offensive player in the NHL right now, so it stands to reason that he’s also the hottest skater in black and gold.
Last week, Phil Kessel posted 3-5-8 offensive totals and a plus-2 rating in the Bruins’ four games (three wins and one loss). For his efforts, Kessel is the thebruinsblog.net Bruin of the Week.
Kessel enters this week with a 15-game point-scoring streak, the longest in the NHL this season. That streak is the longest since Adam Oates registered a point in 20 straight in 1997. And although the Christmas break could postpone his efforts, Kessel is within reach of the Bruins’ all-time record of 22 straight games with at least one points set by Bronco Horvath during the 1959-60 season.
