Bergeron back on the ice

After a bout with the flu over the weekend, Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron was back on the ice today, as his team held an optional on-ice practice at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington.
The flu bug forced him to miss both Saturday night’s home win over Atlanta and practice in front of the season-ticket holders Sunday at the Garden.
Bergeron said it was a 24-hour bug and, without getting into detail, let’s just say that it wasn’t good times for the veteran forward over that 24-hour period.
In other injury news, Marco Sturm (neck) was on the ice, but defenseman Aaron Ward (leg) wasn’t. Both are day-to-day, and head coach Claude Julien said that Ward should be back on the ice in the next day or two.
