BOSTON — After going through the Boston Bruins’ morning skate at the TD Banknorth Garden, winger Marco Sturm is pretty certain he’ll be able to return to the line-up tonight against Toronto.
Sturm has missed 12 games with concussion-like symptoms caused by whiplash. He took turns on the Bruins’ fourth line this morning along with Vladimir Sobotka, Stephane Yelle and Shawn Thornton. Head coach Claude Julien said he’ll monitor Sturm’s situation as the night goes on, should the German-born forward be in the line-up.
“Where I utilize him is not so much the question for me more than — when you haven’t played in a dozen games and we’ve got four games here in six nights — I think it’s important that we don’t overload him in that first game,” Julien said. “He may skip shifts, he may not be put in all situations he’s been in before. And that’s kind of the way I work guys back in the line-up.”
