There’s just something a little eery about Philadelphia defenseman Randy Jones returning to the Flyers line-up, as Ed Moran reports in the Philadelphia Daily News, one day after Patrice Bergeron has to exit the Boston Bruins line-up due to his second concussion in 14 months.
It was Jones, of course, who started Bergeron’s troubles with a hit from behind in October 2007. Bergeron suffered a Grade 3 concussion and missed the remainder of the season, including the playoffs. Jones has had his own injury problems and underwent hip surgery this October.
I guess these two players will always be interlocked. And now the awaited match-up between Jones and the Flyers and Bergeron and the Bruins for Feb. 4 is questionable because of Bergeron’s iffy status. It’s a shame.
