The NHL today announced the rosters for the 2009 NHL YoungStars Game that is scheduled for All-Star Weekend in Montreal.

Boston Bruins rookie winger Blake Wheeler was named to the rookie squad. He’ll square off against teammate Milan Lucic, who was named to the sophomore squad one year after he competed for the East team in Atlanta.

Wheeler currently is tied for second among rookie scorers with 25 points (13 goals,  12 assists). He shares the rookie goals lead.

Lucic, currently out of the Bruins’ line-up with an undisclosed injury, has produced 11 goals and 15 assists in 40 games, following an eight-goal, 19-assist rookie season with Boston.

Also notable by his addition to the rosters for the YoungStars Game, former Bruins draft pick Kris Versteeg, now of Chicago. The Blackhawks winger, traded to Chicago for Brandon Bochenski in Feb. 2007, has put up  13-20-33 totals in 37 games this season.
