WILMINGTON, Mass. — So goaltender Manny Fernandez is going to miss a few days with more general soreness, according to Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien. That’s why Tuukka Rask is up on an emergency basis. The Bruins are hoping some time off will heal that. Fernandez had been healthy enough to back up Tim Thomas just before the All-Star break.
Milan Lucic says he’s ready to play, but Julien tempered that notion just by saying that all decisions on returning players will be made tomorrow before the club hosts the Washington Capitals. Defenseman Andrew Ference and center Patrice Bergeron continue to progress and even took some contact today.
Michael Ryder missed practice with flu-like symptoms. Julien called it a “99-percent chance” the winger plays against the Caps.
