BOSTON — Goaltender Tuukka Rask delivered his first NHL shutout in his first NHL start of the season — and fourth start of his NHL career — today at TD Banknorth Garden in a 1-0 win over the New York Rangers.

Rask joined Manny Fernandez and Tim Thomas to become the third Bruins’ goaltender to record a shutout this season. Last season, four teams — including Boston — had three netminders blank an opponent. Thomas and Fernandez were joined by Alex Auld last season.
