The New Jersey Devils guaranteed that tomorrow night’s game with the Boston Bruins at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., will be another battle of the top two teams in the Eastern Conference by beating the New York Islanders, 4-2, last night, as Tom Gulitti reports in The Record.
Zach Parise scored twice for the Devils to continue his red-hot play. He has now surpassed his career high, as Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger reports, and his line with Travis Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner (as the Bruins can attest) has been on fire.
It won’t be just Parise that the Bruins will have to contend with, however, as Brian Gionta is trying to add a physical element to his game, as Chere reports.
Over in the New York Post, Mark Everson writes about how the Devils will learn a lot about their club this weekend — with games against the Bruins and San Jose on the docket.
