Scouts from teams that are interested in acquiring Toronto defenseman Tomas Kaberle before the March 4 trade deadline should make their way to Ottawa Saturday night.
The veteran All-Star, who practiced yesterday with the Leafs during their annual outdoor practice, is targeting Saturday night’s game for his return to action after missing time with a broken hand, as Paul Hunter of The Star reports.
MK: General manager Brian Burke has held firm to the notion he’s not going trade Kaberle, but it still wouldn’t hurt to take a peek at him. The bidding for the two or three top defensemen available could get out of hand, and the offers for Kaberle might wind up being too good to pass up.
