Atlantic Division: Briere makes Flyers deeper, more dangerous

The Philadelphia Flyers team that will arrive at TD Banknorth Garden for tomorrow night’s game with the Boston Bruins should be more complete, and more dangerous, than the one the Bruins faced last month.

Center Danny Briere finally returned from a lengthy groin-injury absence yesterday in the Flyers shutout loss at New Jersey. And the veteran wasn’t pleased with his performances, as Geoff Mosher in the Courier-Post reported today.

MK: Briere is one of those players that always seems to get under the Bruins’ skin, no matter what uniform he’s wearing. The Bruins will have to be careful to not let Briere’s or any of the Flyers’ chippy stuff distract them.

In the Daily News, John Smallwood seems to want the Flyers to make a decision between their two goaltenders — Martin Biron and Antero Niittymaki. Sam Carchidi of the Inquirer writes that the salary cap could hamper the Flyers’ deadline maneuving.
