BOSTON — Could this be the last morning skate as a member of the Boston Bruins for some of the players currently going through drills on the TD Banknorth Garden ice? We’ll find out soon enough, as tomorrow’s 3 p.m. trade deadline creeps closer.

All I can tell you right now is that the full squad, including some extra forwards, is going through the motions, in preparation for the Bruins’ match-up with Philadelphia. Matt Hunwick has gone through drills as a forward with Marc Savard and Phil Kessel, while Milan Lucic and Petteri Nokelainen, both recovering from injuries, have formed a “fifth line” with healthy scratch Martins Karsums. Both goaltenders and the other six defensemen (other than Hunwick) also skated.

UPDATE: Lucic will not play.

And Manny Fernandez will get the start tonight in goal for the Bruins — his first start since Feb 22.

“Obviously, I’ve given everything I have in practice, so hopefully that’s enough. I’m not clouding my mind with anything else and just trying to prepare myself the best I can and do the best I can,” he said after the morning skate.
