BOSTON — Life on the ice might not be going so great for Boston Bruins winger P.J. Axelsson, who has scored just one goal (into an empty net) in his last 22 games.
But the veteran forward’s recent off-ice endeavor was a humongous success. Today Axelsson and the Bruins announced that the Second Annual PJ’s Pajama Drive collected more than 12,000 pairs of pajamas, beating their hoped-for total by more than 5,000 pairs.
The pajamas will be donated to Cradles to Crayons, a Quincy, Mass.-based nonprofit organization that helps homeless and in-need children. The pajamas will be distributed to children throughout the Greater Boston area.
