The Buffalo Sabres’ slim playoff hopes should get a boost tonight when Ryan Miller is scheduled to return to their crease after recovering from an ankle injury.

The Sabres will host upset-minded Toronto, who the Boston Bruins visit Saturday night. John Vogl of the Buffalo News has the word on Miller, including the goaltender stressing that he’s “not a savior.”

MK: Savior or not, the Sabres might be the best chance for Boston to not face Montreal in the first round. The Sabres and Habs meet Saturday night.

Elsewhere around the division:

•The Maple Leafs are leaning on Brad May for mentoring.

•Leafs players Niklas Hagman and Jamie Heward are both battling concussions and are at different stages in their recoveries.

Saku Koivu saved Montreal in overtime after the Habs blew a 2-0 lead to Tampa Bay.

•Ottawa is 15-7-3 since Cory Clouston took over as interim head coach, and that might have earned him the full-time job.
