WILMINGTON, Mass. — Maybe he was dreaming of all the things he can buy with his newly earned millions, as Tim Thomas was the last Boston Bruins player on the ice for practice at Ristuccia Arena.

Everyone except Shawn Thornton skated. After practice,  head coach Claude Julien said that Thornton will skate tomorrow morning to test out his undisclosed injury.

Phil Kessel wore a brick fourth-line sweater. Matt Hunwick and Steve Montador were dressed as defensemen. The lines were the same from Thursday night’s game except for Kessel in Hunwick’s spot.

Kessel didn’t put much on his wrist shots, just like yesterday. So I guess the only good news is that he’s out there and he’s not wearing a red “no-contact” jersey. Of course, I still don’t think anyone touched him. Juien said the plan is still for Kessel to being playing again next week.

Bruins officials are offering no update on the Thomas deal. Neither Thomas nor Kessel were made available to the media.

Zdeno Chara had to leave the ice for an equipment issue but returned. Aaron Ward went off though for an unknown reason (12:06 p.m.) and was fine. Chara stayed on the ice a little extra and worked with assistant coach Craig Ramsay on shooting on net from just outside the corner on the goal line. The captain even got a few to go in.
