Great story in yesterday’s Boston Herald by all-time awesome columnist Joe Fitzgerald about Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron and 12-year-old Cole Pasqualucci, whose renal disease has filled the last six years of his life with fatigue and disappointments.
Fitzgerald reports that Bergeron was there when Pasqualucci woke up from a recent surgery. And in general Bergeron has been an inspiration to the youngster for a long time.
“He gives my son something no one else can give him. He gives him a feeling of joy,” Cole’s mom Kim tells Fitzgerald. “It seems Cole is smiling all the time they’re together. It brings tears to my eyes because it hurts to see him hurting, knowing I can’t fix the problem. Isn’t that what moms are supposed to do?”
MK: Bergeron never ceases to amaze with his class and generosity.
