BOSTON — The Boston Bruins bounced back after dropping Tuesday night’s game in Ottawa with a dramatic 5-4 overtime victory over the hated Montreal Canadiens at TD Banknorth Garden tonight.

Mark Recchi potted the game-winner — his second goal of the night — after Patrice Bergeron hammered Montreal’s Maxim Lapierre at the blue line, stole the puck and made the feed. The Bruins won despite allowing three power-play goals and racking up 41 penalty minutes.
However, just by earning one point Montreal clinched a playoff berth.
