Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli held a conference call with the media today to discuss his team’s upcoming playoff series with the Montreal Canadiens.
During the course of the call, he addressed the status of injured defenseman Andrew Ference and center Patrice Bergeron.
“We’ll probably have some more news on both those guys as Thursday approaches,” said Chiarelli. “They’re being treated today and I can’t really tell you anything more than that.”
Ference has been out with an undisclosed injury since the April 4 game vs. the New York Rangers. Bergeron took a shot off his foot against Montreal last Thursday.
Winger P.J. Axelsson, who has also missed every game since April 4, has been skating over the last few days and should be ready to practice when the Bruins return to work Tuesday.
I’ll have more about the conference call later today.
