WILMINGTON, Mass. — A day off postponed the inevitable. Now it’s time for the Boston Bruins to begin their playoff run. It all starts this morning at Ristuccia Arena with the first postseason practice.

The team is on the ice right now, all except defenseman Andrew Ference. The best sight for the Bruins is the appearance of center Patrice Bergeron, who missed the last two games of the regular season with an injured foot. P.J. Axelsson is also on the ice. Axelsson is fitting in the drills on the top line along with Phi Kessel, Blake Wheeler and Marc Savard. Vladimir Sobotka, Shawn Thornton, Stephane Yelle and Byron Bitz are all wearing brick-colored fourth-line jerseys.

A pretty standard practice here. The team is finishing up with some battle drills. I’ll have blogs post-practice and all day.

UPDATE: Head coach Claude Julien said Andrew Ference remains day-to-day.
