WILMINGTON, Mass. — After a brief misunderstanding, the media was allowed in to Ristuccia Arena this morning for the Boston Bruins’ second and final practice before they open the playoffs tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens.
Just an intimate group on the ice at about 10 minutes to 11 a.m. for some work on power play breakouts. Assistant coach Geoff Ward dumped in pucks and the group had to work it up ice around three cones strategically placed at the defensive blue line and near the red line. Here were the units:
Ryder-Savard-Recchi-Hunwick-Wideman
Kobasew-Krejci-Kessel-Chara-Bergeron
Steve Montador and Manny Fernandez were also on the ice.
The rest of the club, minus Andrew Ference, then joined the fray. The only surprise was Blake Wheeler skating with the fourth-liners, while P.J. Axelsson joined the top line. Could Wheeler be Game 1 scratch? It’s possible.
The D pairs also mixed up a lot during 5-0n-5 drills.

I didn’t mean One, I meant both.
Matt,
thats BS if you ask me. What does Julien have against Wheeler and Lucic?? One of those two deserve top 9 minutes. Axelsson on the first line has not worked all season, or the past 3 seasons, so why use it in the playoffs? Conservative hockey may hurt the Bruins this post season.
