WILMINGTON, Mass. — The Boston Bruins took yesterday off after their four-game sweep of Montreal, so it’s back to work today at Ristuccia Arena.

It’s obviously an optional practice, with Marc Savard, Patrice Bergeron, Dennis Wideman and Tim Thomas not among the group of players on the ice. Prospect Adam Courchaine, who has been serving as Providence’s third-stringer in the Calder Cup playoffs, is on hand to serve as Boston’s second goaltender along with Manny Fernandez.

Andrew Ference, in his continued efforts to return from an undisclosed injury, worked out on the ice with strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides before the team took the ice. I’ll have an update on Ference if one is available, and more, later.
