WILMINGTON, Mass. — The NHL today changed the scoring on the Boston Bruins’ first goal from their 4-1 Game 1 Eastern Conference semifinal win over Carolina last night at TD Banknorth Garden.
The goal, originally credited to David Krejci, has been switched to defenseman Aaron Ward. It was Ward who shot the puck from the right point toward the net, where the scorer originally thought Krejci tipped it past Cam Ward. Today it was learned he didn’t tip it. Krejci, at least, doesn’t lose a point because he was credited with the secondary assist after Michael Ryder’s primary assist.
The goal is Ward’s first of the playoffs this season and fourth postseason goal of his career.
