Marchand
Brad Marchand’s power-play goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation was too little too late for the Providence Bruins (AHL), who dropped Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, 2-1, tonight to the host Hershey Bears.
The series is now tied 1-1 heading to Providence for Game 3, 4 and 5 at Dunkin Donuts Center next weekend.
Somehow the P-Bruins made it to the third period in a scoreless tie despite being outshot, 21-10, in the second period and 26-16 through the game’s first 40 minutes. But 3:21 into the third period Andrew Joudrey scored an even-strength goal.
Alexandre Giroux added a power-play goal for the Bears at the 6:01 mark of the last stanza. Marchand’s goal, assisted by Jeff Penner and Vladimir Sobotka came with goaltender Tuukka Rask pulled and the P-Bruins enjoying a 6-on-4 advantage. Rask finished the night with 37 saves.
Game 3 is Friday night at Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

let’s not forget to mention Terry Koharski’s WONDERFUL (and i’ll point out the sarcasm for those who can’t see it) officiating. To sum it up, Hershey went on 7 powerplays and the P-Bruins only had 2…and the last one came with about a minute and change left in the 3rd period.
