Boston Bruins prospect Yannick Riendeau scored a goal and added an assist, but he couldn’t stop Windsor from defeating his Drummondville team, 3-2, in overtime in a Memorial Cup semifinal game last night in Rimouski.
Adam Henrique scored the goal 4:31 in the extra session to eliminate the QMJHL champions from Cup contention. Riendeau had tied the score with a power-play goal at 15:10 of the second period.
Riendeau, who led the ‘Q’ in scoring during the regular season and signed with Boston as a free agent last month, finished with 2-6-8 totals in four Memorial Cup games. No doubt he’ll be part of Boston’s development camp and then training camp in the months ahead.
