Fact of the matter is that the Pens and Wings were on a collision course since the start of the season.
Sometimes you have to read between the lines.

And yes, I have money on Pens over Wings in the Finals since before the playoffs even began.

Next year, and for that matter as long as Malkin, Crosby and Fleury are on the same team, expect more of the same in the East.</description>
