Another mock says de Haan will be Boston’s

de Haan
Over at SI.com, Allan Muir has posted his mock draft for the first round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, scheduled for Friday night.
According to Muir, the Bruins will tab defenseman Calvin de Haan, who has been the rumored pick in a number of other mocks. The blueliner from Oshawa of the Ontario Hockey League stands 6 feet tall and weighs 173 pounds.
Here is a Q&A Hockey’s Future did with de Haan in February.
it seems to me that mock drafts take the various player rankings and try to fit them in with the mock drafter’s assumption of organizational needs, with very little insider knowledge as to who the team really wants, except for where its a high profile prospect… is there any indication from chiarelli or anyone “in the know” as to who the B’s are actually looking at? even anything as vague as defense vs offense, size vs speed, etc? thanks Matt!
