The Boston Bruins today signed a pair of journeymen that will add depth to their organization.
Defenseman Drew Fata and goaltender Dany Sabourin were both inked to one-year deals. Fata split last season between San Antonio and Binghamton in the American Hockey League. He recorded 7-9-16 totals in 75 games. The 26-year-old has eight career NHL games on his resume, and he posted 1-1-2 totals in those contests.
Sabourin will come to Boston to push rookie Tuukka Rask in his attempt to be the Bruins’ backup to Tim Thomas. The 28-year-old has appeared in 57 career NHL games with Calgary, Vancouver and Pittsburgh and he has compiled an 18-25-4 record, 2.87 goals against average and .898 save percentage.
