BOSTON — The Boston Bruins dropped their preseason finale tonight, 4-2, at TD Garden to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Tuukka Rask made 31 saves in the defeat. Before the game, the Bruins waived Dany Sabourin, so Rask has won the No. 2 goaltender’s job. For more on Rask, check out my blog at ESPNBoston.com.

Here are some more notes from tonight:

Vladimir Sobotka and Zdeno Chara scored the Boston goals.

•With the exception of the injured David Krejci, Marco Sturm and Steve Begin, the Bruins iced the team that will probably battle Washington Thursday in the regular season opener.

•Defenseman Derek Morris was sliced by a stick under his right eye, but was stitched up and fine after the game.

Chuck Kobasew came to the defense of Rask by duking it out with Michael Blunden late in the third period. Shawn Thornton then dropped the gloves with Jared Boll and received a game misconduct.

•Before the game, the Bruins made their cuts.
