Another bad break for Bruins

BOSTON — Center Marc Savard was placed on Long Term Injured reserve today by the Boston Bruins due to a broken left foot. Savard is expected to miss four to weeks of action.
In his place, the Bruins have recalled center Trent Whitfield from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.
Savard had been playing on a sore foot since taking a shot off of it during a preseason practice. He re-aggravated the injury in practice Tuesday and tests revealed the break.
