Tuukka Rask made a tie-preserving save on a Jeff Carter breakaway late in the third period as part of his 36-save effort in the Bruins’ 4-3 shootout loss at Philadelphia tonight.

Rask got the surprise start and made the most of it to make sure that Derek Morris’ first goal as a Bruin and Steve Begin’s second goal in as many nights could earn Boston a road point against one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference this season. The Bruins are now 1-1 in shootouts this season.
