Over at FOXSports.com, Spector has ranked the top 10 goaltending performances of the decade, and he shows some love for Bruins netminder Tim Thomas.
In ranking Thomas No. 1o, Spector writes:
“The Tank” spent the first half of this decade bouncing between the AHL and Europe but by the end of this decade the Boston Bruins had a late-blooming star in the 35-year-old Thomas. His performance between the pipes played a huge part in the Bruins’ emergence as a playoff team over the past two years. His unorthodox style won him 30 games in 2006-07 and 36 in 2008-09. Thomas’ performance last season — leading the league in goals-against average (2.10) and save percentage (.933) — earned him the Vezina Trophy. He was named to the first all-star team for 2009.
