Bruin of the Week

Thomas
How does a goaltender that allowed six goals in his third of three games in one week earn Bruins of the Week honors? When Tim Thomas’ first two games in the past seven-day period were shutouts.
Thomas blanked Pittsburgh Tuesday with 27 saves and then stopped 23 more shots against Florida, before he allowed one goal on four shots in the shootout loss to the Panthers. Although he allowed six goals on 33 shots in Pittsburgh, and his miscue behind the net led to the Penguins’ overtime game-winning goal, Thomas still had a banner week.
The defending Vezina Trophy winner also anchored a penalty kill that was a perfect 8-for-8. Thomas now ranks 12th in the NHL with a 2.33 goals-against average.
Other candidates this week were Patrice Bergeron (1-2-3, plus-1) and Derek Morris 1-1-2, minus-1, 6 blocked shots)
