Just call it a Rask repeat. It sure has a nice ring.
For the second straight week, Tuukka Rask is my Bruin of the Week. The rookie went 2-0-1, including a shootout win over Minnesota, in his three starts for Boston.
Against St. Louis, he stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 4-2 win and then was nearly impenetrable two nights later with 28 saves on 29 shots in regulation and overtime and three saves on four shots in the shootout against the Wild. Back home Friday, Rask received little offensive support, but was great with 36 saves an two shootout goals allowed in three attempts in a 2-1 loss to New Jersey. For the week, Rask compiled a .959 save percentage.
Other candidates this week were defenseman Dennis Wideman (1-2-3 totals, even rating) and center David Krejci (1-2-3 totals, minus-2, shootout game-winner vs. Minnesota).
