Bruin of the Week

It wasn’t difficult to pick this week’s Bruin of the Week.

No player starred more at both ends of the rink for the Bruins in their two games — one win and one overtime defeat — than center David Krejci.

Krejci registered one goal and one assist in each contest. Against Toronto, he scored what proved to be the game-winner on a beautiful breakaway with a move to his backhand that faked goaltender Vesa Toskala into the popcorn machine. Krejci also won five of 10 faceoffs against the Leafs.

On Long Island, he scored the go-ahead goal in a contest the Bruins lost in overtime. He also won nine of 11 draws and posted a plus-2 rating.

Other candidates this week were Mark Recchi (two goals and plus-1 vs. Leafs) and Steve Begin (12 hits in two games).
