Regan

Providence goaltender Kevin Regan was named today as the club’s winner of an American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award. From the list of winners, one from each of the 29 clubs, representatives from American Specialty and the AHL will select one winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, which is the league’s Man of the Year Award.

Regan, a native of South Boston and a former Boston ninth-round draft pick, was selected as Providence’s nominee because, as the team’s public relations staff described in a press release, he “has cemented himself as a fixture in the Providence community through a partnership with Adoption Rhode Island, and his voluntary involvement with several school organizations across the state. Regan, 25, can often be found associating himself with schools in the forms of speaking engagements, reading visits and fund-raising endeavors.”
