The season is now over for Bruins 2008 first-round draft pick Joe Colborne, as his Denver Pioneers were upset Friday night by RIT in a first-round NCAA regional game at Albany, N.Y., last night.
There have been hints that Colborne, who finished his sophomore year with 22-19-41 totals in 39 games, will leave school early to join the Bruins’ organization. We’ll find out over the next couple days. All we know right now is that Colborne must be crushed by his club’s collapse, and Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli witnessed it in person.
Another Bruins prospet, Steve Kampfer of Michigan, is scheduled to be in action tonight in a first-round game against Bemidji State.
