Don’t slobber in your Cheerios this morning thinking about something that might not come true, but the ESPN Mock Draft posted yesterday projects the Bruins as the No. 2 pick in the June draft and with that selection they would take Plymouth center Tyler Seguin.
This might be wishful thinking considering the way Toronto has been playing down the stretch, but if Boston gets the second slot there’s no way they’d be able to pass up whichever player between Seguin and Taylor Hall if available. Of course, they might be better off not picking in the top two so they could justify selecting a defenseman, a need the Bruins desperately have not only in the NHL but in their system.
Interestingly, following up on the story ESPN posted yesterday, the mock draft projects Cam Fowler to go fourth, after fellow defenseman Erik Gudbranson.
