Well, the injury bug might never stop biting the Bruins. But at least the Buffalo Sabres have decided to go easier on the boys in black and gold.

With the Northeast Division title wrapped up, the Sabres are trying to get Ryan Miller (68 games played, plus Olympics) some rest. Tonight at TD Garden, they’ll start backup Patrick Lalime, who is coming off a bout with the flu that kept him out of practice Wednesday.

Of course, the league’s worst offense hasn’t exactly improved much whether facing a star starter or a No. 2 netmind, so we’ll see tonight how much Buffalo’s move benefits Boston. In other news, Jochen Hects has joined Tim Connolly, Thomas Vanek and Patrick Kaleta on the Sabres’ injury list, which means Buffalo will be seriously shorthanded up front in addition to in the net.
