Everyone’s leering at the Sharks wondering how they’re going to mess things up this year. Well, I don’t see them doing too much to change their perception as a postseason failure, but they’re not going to go down in flames in the first round like last year.
With Evgeni Nabokov playing for his contract in net and plenty of firepower up front, the Sharks should be able to handle an Avalanche team that might be lacking Matt Duchesne.
The Avs will win if … Craig Anderson can play lights out in net and they find enough secondary scoring to keep up with the Sharks.
The Sharks will win if … they’re power play clicks and Nabokov snuffs out Colorado’s confidence.
My pick: Sharks in 5. The Avs might win one on home ice, but there’s no way the Sharks let them make things interesting.
