Adding muscle to their lineup in the form Cody McCormick didn’t work for the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4, so tonight they’ll try to add speed and scoring in the form of former BC star Nathan Gerbe for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Bruins in Buffalo.
Deadline-day acquisition Raffi Torres, who’s still looking for his first goal in a Sabres uniform (regular season or playoffs) is scheduled to be the healthy scratch. He’ll join injured Thomas Vanek and Matt Ellis on the sidelines.
Gerbe scored two goals in the regular season, and both came on the power play so maybe he can help Buffalo break through on the man-advantage for the first time in the series.

Loving watch non Vezina and Calder nominee Rask putting out the Calder and Vezina winners
Well what do you know? A player wanted by the Bruins’ fans etc., Raffi Torres, is a healthy scratch in the playoffs. The 1a. most overrated deadline acquisition — along with Dominic Moore — proves to be useless. What a shocker.
Good thing Chiarelli didn’t pull the trigger on this stiff.
Hope he cant! lol
