The Bruins have announced the signing of 2006 second-round pick Yuri Alexandrov to an entry-level contract. While the Bruins didn’t release the terms, it is widely believed to be a two-year deal.
With the 21-year-old Alexandrov in the fold after five years playing for his hometown team Cherepovets (now of the KHL), the Bruins have at least one blue-chip defense prospect that could challenge for a job this fall. Alexandrov’s only previous hint that he would eventually be part of the Bruins’ organization was his appearance at last summer’s development camp.
