The Bruins have called a press conference for 2 p.m. Wednesday, during which Jeremy Jacobs, Charlie Jacobs, Peter Chiarelli, Cam Neely and Harry Sinden are expected to speak.

Joe Haggerty at was the first to report that the announcement will be that Neely has been promoted from vice president to president of the Bruins. The move has been anticipated ever since Neely was hired back by the organization in September 2007.

The Bruins have not had a president since Sinden’s retirement in the summer of 2006.

Of course, if the Celtics win tonight, no one will care what the Bruins have to say tomorrow unless they’ve found a way to hijack the Stanley Cup out of Chicago.
