A deal that has been rumored for a few days seems to have come to fruition between the Bruins and veteran winger Mark Recchi.
NESN.com’s James Murphy reported today that Recchi has re-signed with the club for the same $1 million he made last season, plus some games-played bonuses. Even at 42, Recchi was one of the Bruins’ best forwards night in and night out, and he played in every regular season game until the meaningless season finale. Recchi will be a great mentor to Tyler Seguin or Taylor Hall.

If the Bruins could get rid of Ryder, who I am convinced aims at the seat formerly occupied by the goal judge, it would be a steal no matter what they get for him.
I LOVE that Recchi is Back! I wish every forward played as hard as he does.
I love the way things are shaping up for the Bs… Trading wideman for a scoring winger, re-signing Boychuck to (in my opinion) a VERY reasonable deal, and now re-signing Recchi to what seems to be another steal cap-wise. Trading Thomas is a must, but it seems like something will get done there. I’d like to see Paille come back on the 4th line/PK, and it seems like Campbell will be an upgrade from Steve Begin (who I didn’t really care for). Is there any way the Bruins could get rid of Ryder too?! Maybe that’s a bit too much to ask, but this team is getting closer and closer to a Stanley Cup and I’m lovin’ it!!!
