According to the Twitter feed of Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos, Bruins center Marc Savard might have loosened the reins on his no-trade clause in order to expedite the Bruins trading him out of Boston.
@RealKyper writes: Marc Savard waived his no-move clause and gives Boston consent to move him to 2 teams. After July 1, his limited no-trade jumps to five teams.
ESPN.com’s Pierre Lebrun then Tweeted that a Boston source said nothing is imminent on the Savard front.

PC screwed the pooch when he decided to sign a 32-year-old to a seven-year deal in the first place…with a $4M cap-hit for seven years. Shipping 91 out of town, of all the top-3 centers, is the right move. I’m just not sold on the timing of it all. Maybe next time Mr. Chiarelli will think twice about dishing out those NTC/NMC.
I don’t understand why everyone is talking about Savard being traded. Seguin can play wing. So why trade Savard? His cap # of 4-mil is very reasonable, and as long as the Bs trade Thomas, won’t they have the space necessary to fill their roster? Aside from that, Savard is a great player in my opinion, and an absolute must keep.

Savvy would OK a trade only to a team that would keep him close to his kids.
I hope/pray/beg that the Bruins don’t trade him. That would be a HUGE mistake.
