Bruins general manager Peter Chiraelli has issued qualifying offers to all his restricted free agents except forward Daniel Paille and goaltender Kevin Regan by today’s deadline.
While Paille would be eligible now to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, it sounds like the Bruins would like to bring him back at a salary less than his $1.35 million qualifying offer.
Those receiving qualifying offers were Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart, Gregory Campbell, Adam McQuaid, Mikko Lehtonen, Jeff Lovecchio and Andrew Bodnarchuk. The Bruins now hold right of first refusal against offer sheets to all these players after July 1. Qualifying offers expire July 15. Stuart and Wheeler have arbitration rights, as did Paille had he been qualified.

I think it would be crazy not to sign Kevin Regan. He was more than a solid goaltender at nearby UNH and he and Tuukka Rask are probably the bruins’ two future star goalies.
