Warsofsky looked as advertised. Good vision, quick passes, a little over-matched along the walls and against forecheckers in scrimmages. I'd have to see him more to determine if he could switch out to the wing.

Matt, any thoughts on how David Warsofsky looked in camp? I didn't get a chance to get down to watch ( stupid job). I realize that he is undersized, but he has good speed, vision, and hands. Of course I probably overrate him because I see him play 20 times a year, but he sure looked right at home on the U.S junior team that beat some elite Canadian players last World Juniors. Could you see him converting to forward and taking on a playmaking/special teams role?

I, for one, though Knight looked much better (both skating and shooting) than Caron. I was sitting right in front of the forwards during the skating drills at camp and Knight (by far) was the most agile skater and yes, his wrist shot is a laser beam. The kid has skill.

If there was ever a year that we could expect B's management to pump up the stock of their prospects, it's the year after they suffered the most horrific playoff collapse in team history. For me, I'll wait to see how these guys turned out over the next 3-5 years. Seguin is the only sure thing. If we hate Wheeler because he is a big man playing a soft, finesse game, then I'd hate to see what we will do to Colborne over the next few years. I hope it works out but it's way too early to overreact either way.

I never want to call a kid soft, but that's been a knock on Colborne before. We won't know about his will to get tough until he's into some games. I think Caron's skating will definitely hold him back a bit, and that's why I wasn't enamored with him during the camp. If Knight's Peter McNab, the Bruins will be in great shape.

Matt - I get the sense that Colborne is pretty soft. How does his game compare to Wheeler? Don't you think he'll need a year in the AHL before he is ready to 'battle' like he'll need to in the pros? Can Caron get by with his skating ability - or is his game that limited because of his initial burst? I'm SO excited about Knight. It says here, he's Peter McNabb in the making.

I thought Ryan Button looked pretty darn good 2 years in a row. I think there are 8 legit NHL players coming from this group.
Caron, Colborne, Seguin, Spooner, Knight, Sauve, Button and Alexandrov

I think we should just take there excitement as a positive. All they do is evaluate talent, and they see plenty of it. My guess is that they see Seguin, Colborne, and Caron as better options at this exact moment then Wheeler, Ryder, and Sturm. Plus room to grow in their early careers. How can that not get you pumped!

Ha. You're right, Char. I hate that too. I should have said "the Bruins are overreacting." They sounded like they were going to win the next 8 Cups with all their talent. I'm pretty sure every team ends development camp by declaring their talent pool to be huge.

Sorry to generalize.

Some good food for thought, but how can you say "everyone’s overreacting a little bit to the club’s depth"? How can you know what everyone is thinking?

Just a pet peeve: Media treating a fan base - or any group, for that matter - as a monolithic entity. There are probably as many varied opinions about the Bruins prospects as there are fans.
