According to multiple reports, the Bruins’ arbitration hearing with Blake Wheeler and his agent Matt Keator ended this afternoon. Keator told several outlets the hearing was “professional.”
The arbiter is required to rule on a one-year award for Wheeler within 48 hours. Try not to lose too much sleep waiting for this one, folks.
I expect Wheeler to get $2.5 million. Can you guess the award without going over, Price Is Right style?

Nice call, G Dog.
The closest without going over was G Dog. Congrats, you win another season of watching Blake Wheeler play for the Bruins.
It’s a mystery now what the hold up is.
Its been 48 hours….where is the decision??
2.49
3.0 mill – not that i think it should be that high but i am not the arbitrator either.
2.8
2.35
2.275 (and a Neely-signed copy of ‘Dumb and Dumber’) …
If this is Price is Right style I’m going cutthroat on Joe. 2 dollars.
2.48 mil
i hope the $2.5m baby had a ton of acne at the hearing.

Great answer, Joe.
Especially for a one year deal, considering his mediocre numbers (18G, 20A) last season, and that he made a base salary of $875,000, I’d be shocked if the ruling came in at or above $2 million. Especially for his age. There are other players producing far better numbers making less than he did (including bonusus) last season, so there has to be some precedent.
2.1 mil
I will take 1.9 mil. But the Bruins walk.
Once the amount is set how long do the Bruins have to respond?
$2.7M
2.55m.
Well, if this is Price is right style, you can’t overbid, so I guess 2.45millon, Bob!!!
I’ll say 2.35.
Let him walk as a UFA.
According to the info I’ve read, Wheeler earned about 1.5 mil (base salary plus bonuses earned) in his rookie year. He then earned just over 1.1 mil (again base salary plus bonuses)
If those numbers are correct, and he averaged about 1,25 mil in his first two season, I can’t see how he’s goignt o double that salary after putting up mediocre stats (20 or so goals, and only 20 or so assists).
Shouldn’t the salary be more in the 1.75 t0 2.0 mil range ?
I’m thinking $2.45
I’ll take it at $2.65
I’m going with $2.75 million.
My guess (not educated, just a guess haha) is $2.75 Million
Price is Right style? ONE DOLLAR!

My guess is $2.3 mil.
