11 Bruins games head to VS, while NBC looks elsewhere

Apparently “The Peacock” isn’t as impressed by the Bruins’ offseason maneuverings as many hockey experts.

The NHL today released its national television schedules. While Boston will appear on VS 11 times, the Bruins are scheduled for just two NBC games — both of which would have to be flexed by the network.

There’s no telling why the Bruins have been basically snubbed by NBC, but it’s just as well. Even if NBC exercises its option on the Bruins’ contests Sunday, Feb. 13 at Detroit and Sunday, April 10 at New Jersey, we’re guaranteed a minimum 69 games on NESN featuring Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley, the only broadcast team you really want to hear call a Bruins game.

Here’s a look at the Bruins’ VS schedule:

Oct. 9 vs. Phoenix (at Prague)

Oct. 19 at Washington

Nov. 17 at NY Rangers

Nov. 22 at Tampa Bay

Dec. 7 vs. Buffalo

Dec. 20 vs. Anaheim

Dec. 28 at Tampa Bay

Jan. 10 at Pittsburgh

Feb. 9 vs. Montreal

March 29 vs. Chicago

April 4 at NY Rangers
